Virgin Atlantic NDC Order Management

This is the voluntary date and time change flow. We have provided the inputs and outputs for each API at each stage of the sequence.

Response

For each offer:

Old order price (BaseAmount, TotalTaxAmount, TotalAmount) for each passenger Type
New order price (BaseAmount, TotalTaxAmount, TotalAmount) for each passenger Type
Fare rules (change and refund rules) for the new itinerary
Fare product info e.g. Economy Classic for the new itinerary
Baggage allowance for the new itinerary
Differential price (New Order price – Old Order price + change penalty fee) for each Passenger type
ChangeType e.g. EvenExchange

OrderReshop - Useful Information

In order to call OrderReshop API, the OrderID must be provided in the request. If the seller also provides BookingReference then it will be validated to ensure the BookingReference is part of the requested OrderID, an error will be returned if they don’t match
If no cabin is requested then offers will be returned in the same (booked cabin) and all available higher cabins
If a cabin(s) is requested then offers will only be returned in the requested cabin(s). Note: More than one cabin can be requested
If the requested cabin is less than the originally booked cabin then an error will be returned e.g. if the originally booked cabin is Business and the requested cabin is Economy then an error will be returned
The Origin and Destinations (O&Ds) that are not being changed and the O&Ds that have already flown must be specified in the request under DeleteOrderItem section with the OrderItemID and the RetainServiceID elements
If all O&Ds are being changed then DeleteOrderItem section can be optionally specified just with the OrderItemIDs. If DeleteOrderItem section is not present and all O&Ds are being changed then the API will accept and process the request
For each offer, the API returns old itinerary price, new itinerary price and the differential price (new itinerary price – old itinerary price + change fee) for each passenger type
Total differential price (i.e the sum of differential price for all passengers for each passenger type) is the final amount the seller must pay in OrderChange to confirm the change i.e Total differential price is the total additional collection amount

OfferID and OfferItemIDs of the selected offer from OrderReshopRS in response to OrderReshopRQ

For each requested offer:

Old order price (BaseAmount, TotalTaxAmount, TotalAmount) for each passenger Type
New order price (BaseAmount, Tax Breakdown, TotalTaxAmount, TotalAmount) for each passenger Type
Fare rules (change and refund rules) for the new itinerary
Fare product info e.g. Economy Classic for the new itinerary
Brand attributes for each fare product
Baggage allowance for the new itinerary
Differential price (New Order price – Old Order price + change penalty fee) for each Passenger type
ChangeType e.g. EvenExchange

Upsell offers – all details returned for the requested offer will also be returned for upsell offer.

OrderQuote - Useful Information

Along with the requested offer (Requoted offer section in the response), the API also returns upsell offers (Offers section in the response)
Upsell offers will return the next higher fare products in the same cabin as that of the requested offer and all available fare products in the next available higher cabins e.g. if the requested offer is Economy Classic then upsell offers will return Economy Classic Flex, Economy Delight, Economy Delight Flex, Premium, Premium Flex, Upper and Upper Flex
Seller can select either the requested offer or an upsell offer and call OrderChange to process the change
During OrderQuote, if the price changes for the requested offer, then the API will return a new OfferID and OfferItemIDs along with a warning message advising the seller that there has been a price change
A warning message is returned if any of the offer returned in the response requires an additional collection amount to be paid for the change – If the seller wants to confirm an offer which requires additional collection amount to be paid then they can do so by contacting the airline, as currently this not supported via NDC OrderChange API
For each requested offer and upsell offer, the API returns old itinerary price, new itinerary price and the differential price (new itinerary price – old itinerary price + change fee) for each passenger type

General Limitations

Route change is not supported
Any change which results in additional collection amount to be paid is not supported
Any change which results in amount to be refunded is not supported
Change can only be done for all passengers in the booking i.e split and change is not currently supported

*Based on the flexibility of the fare, it is possible to change or cancel the itinerary.

If the fare is restrictive, then change or cancel is not allowed. In those case the entire fare (what is paid) gets forfeited.

In case it is flexible, then change or cancel is allowed, without any penalty or additional charges.

The eligibility tells us, if the change/cancel is allowed or not. If allowed, then this could be either with some charges or completely free to change (that is implied by the Penalty Charge column).
